So, having sold The Promises Of Spring, I figure I should probably show you what I finished last weekend:

Center medallion for a rather large quilt:



Now I got to trim it down, get a grey 1" border around it, and send it off to the next person in the quiltmaking chain.

Yes, it's a chain quilt. I make the centre, someone makes the next border; someone makes the border after that, and the border after that, and the border after that, until we have a full-sized quilt...

Well, this one didn't take too much thought - it's a group quilt for submitting in the Sydney Quilt SHow next year, and we always do a Rainbow colour theme for our quilt (ROYGBIV).

This is stunning. Did you paper piece it? Will you get the whole thing back in the end? I assume you're getting someone else's center block. What size is this?

Yes, foundation paper-pieced. And no, I don't get the whole quilt back in the end; it's a group quilt, not a round robin quilt, so everyone adds a border to it, and when it's done we batt it, back it, and put it in the Sydney Quilt Show.

The circle is ~ 15" diameter, so it's decently large...
