The interesting thing is in the results where it details how the public system works vs. the private system, as well as links to 'saving on private health insurance'.

CHOICE is an organisation set up in the late 1950s by the Australian Consumer Association, an independant, not-for-profit, non-partisan group that was dedicated to assisting Australians make the best choice, not just the one with the flashiest advertising. They get their support through customer subscription, and we've always found their picks to be reliable and practical.

CHOICE are a pretty solid crowd - I must get around to subscribing, or otherwise financially supporting.

We subscribed about six months ago when we were looking for a gas heater. Since then, we used their advice for a washing machine, and I think we're going to need one for a new fridge sooner or later (whatever my sister tries to believe about our current one, it's dying by slow degrees).

The washing machine we ended up with is the same brand that we had last time, but the newer version, and we're pretty happy with it.

Subscription is definitely worth it!
