For [personal profile] retsuko who asked for one of my current crafting projects for More Joy Day.

The Meadow Quilt was designed by fabric designer Lizzy House back in 2012-ish. It's only taught in classes. You can't buy the pattern or get the tutorial, although if you have a logical mind, you can probably work out how to do it reasonably easily. But who wants to do that?

Summer Meadow 2016

I did the class in...2015? And set it aside. It's been in the WIP queue for ages, but this year I'm dusting it off.

Getting the plan sorted out:

Cutting and sorting and organising:

The 'eyes' - Lizzy said that once you do these, you'll make the rest of the quilt eventually, because there is absolutely no use for these apart from in this quilt:

Laying out to test with a background colour:

Ready to start cutting the pieces!

Starting to lay out the pieces:

And sewing the first 2 of 20 blocks:

Hoping to get most, if not all of the blocks sewn together today. Then it's just layout and piecing together. Have to decide whether I'm going to do borders or not.

Anyway, that's the quilt I'm working on right now - hopefully to be finished by the end of the month!

Love it!! I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done.
