We just stay home and lie around!

...I think I may be whatever the antithesis of the pirates who don't do anything. So much of my life involves going out and doing stuff. And even when I'm staying home, I end up doing stuff.

Like this weekend. When I had nothing planned. NOTHING.

Except for the parentals coming around to help clean up/tidy up/organise the kitchen in the morning. And the gym classes I was going to start attending again. And the first birthday partay of little Piper Rose.

But Sunday, I have nothing planned! Except church. But you can't plan church. And possibly a gym class in the morning.

And depending on whether my work is done today...I may call up friends and see if anyone would like to do dinner. With me. As compared to without me, which tends to be the way the vast majority of the world does dinner. (They're missing out, I can tell you.)

...I may be just a little on the tired-and-hysterical side.

Right, so I didn't have just one nightmare last night, I had three.

In one, I caught a cyclist under my wheels and dragged him about 200m before I realised. Let's not go into the others.

I suspect - rather strongly at this point - that I may be slightly stressed. Thankfully, today is Friday and most of my work is done, except for a pesky questionnaire about the system requirements that we have to send in to the makers so they'll support our systems if things go belly-up. And maybe some clean-up.

Come Sunday, I'll be working to put together a 'dress rehearsal' system for work, and then going out and hitting up a small hard ball with as much force as I can and having a drink after. Hopefully I get a full game bar 5 mins sub.

And tonight, I'm going to have roast duck with mushroom risotto. Home-made. By me. :D

Today is going to be one of those days. And it's only just gone 9am.

No hockey this weekend: which is a pity because I'm enjoying it. We won our game last weekend 5-2 against a group of bitchy schoolgirls, one of whom cheered her team-mate when she smacked one of our players in the chin. Classy group, that.

I think we're going to do very well in this year's comp; having a coach makes a big difference in how we play, in our strategy and how we look at the field. We're not just playing, we're playing as a team, and we're playing against a specific opponent, not just generally defending. eg. the team we played on the weekend had two strong players and a bunch of okay ones. Once we kept the strong players boxed in, denying them the ball or blocking their passes, their game was hemmed in. They got their goals off short corners (which are awarded for defender mistakes in the goal circle), not from running down the field.

So, otherwise, I have a birthday party to attend on Saturday, a friend to catch up with on Sunday, and several thousand words to write.

Mostly, I just want to sleep all weekend. 5:30am wake-ups are no fun.
