I haven't done one of these in a while. Mostly because I haven't seen anyone much, but also because there's no improvement to report and I'm coping.
So, needling in the jaw and back of the head have helped the headaches happening down the right side of my skull. I was seeing the osteopath weekly, and then he went away on holiday! (Ugh. How dare health professionals go on holiday. I mean, really.)
I think I'm seeing him this coming week, now that he's back.
However, although the needling has helped with the headaches and the tightness in the jaw somewhat, the gum at the extraction site still doesn't feel quite right. Crowded, pinched, tight, swollen, whatever you want to call it. I haven't spoken to the oral surgeon - I feel kind of like he washed his hands of me after I asked to get the implant out. I don't know this, but you know when you make something up in your head and decide it's true? That. Exactly that.
I'm hesitating going to the oral surgeon, partly because, well, I kind of wonder what he can actually do. And I keep on wondering if this is just something I'm going to get used to?
On the question of the hand and foot tingling; the stretches the osteo recommended I do have meant that the tingling/numbness hasn't happened again. However, I did managed to bash the right big toe (the one with the swollen joint) at training a couple of weeks back, which I think made a blood vessel break not under the nail, but under the nail bed, which caused the throbbing where I couldn't do more than hobble around all weekend.
I kicked it again last night - stubbed it firmly against the table leg. It seems okay today, but I have a hockey game tomorrow so...we'll see how I hold up after that game.
As they say, "this growing old stuff sucks...although it's better than the alternative".
