BPAL scents: a few reviews

The Sun's Treasure: incenses, myrrhs, ambers to start with - it's pretty good in the wet phase, although it's fading fast. Developed into a lovely warm ambery-musk scent, but not very strong. Barely a residual scent 2 hours later.

The Carousel: too thin, turns out kind of herbal and sickly green on my skin. Also fading fast. Barely there in twenty minutes, residual in 2 hours. - SWAP

Nasty Woman: black fig and patchouli, filthy bourbon vanilla, honeyed amber oud, and loukhoum.
Immediately amber, then swiftly a strong tobacco scent. That might be the patchouli? Doesn't last very long, residual scent in 2 hours.

Bast: A desert wind alight with myrrh and golden amber, cardamom and honey, bourbon vanilla and cacao.
Amber and myrrh to start with, the honey hits strong on this one, even in drydown. However it's gone in a couple of hours, only residual scent.

Are those mostly American Gods? That keeps tempting me, but idk. I did get Bast, partly to contrast it with Bastet. (And was there another older Bast scent, I forget....) Sun's Treasure sounds pretty, but I bet I would wind up smelling like an orange.

I got Nasty Woman to support the cause but I'm afraid to test it because of the patchouli /o\ But everyone's reviews were so good!

I'm a bit meh on patchouli myself, but I rather like how it turns out in Nasty Woman! I just wish it lasted longer...

My favourite Angel/Spike shippy moment (which is maybe a Liam/William moment really) is when Angel goes "I....always liked your poetry." It's so sweet.

LOL. This is my icon for BPAL.

I got briefly into the Buffy and Angel fandoms around 2004, but Faith was my favourite character and my primary pairing was Wes/Faith and almost nobody else shipped it, so... *shrugs*

FAITH <333 my default icon on my LJ for years and years was Faith. Faith/Wes was hot!

It's weird, I didn't like her in Buffy, or when she turned up in S1 Angel, and then a few years later, I think I watched Angel S4 and when Wes broke her out, I was all OH BOY YES THIS IS WHAT I WANT.

I even wrote some fic. Including the start of what was going to be an alt-S5 for Angel, where Faith joins the Fang Gang in LA and Angel gets his redemption...

It never got finished, although I am tempted to post what I have of it now...

Faith was always my fave fave fave, but oh yeah, those xover eps on Angel S4 were just amazing. (It was sad the season went so downhill after that.) LOL I wrote fic too, altho it was Willow taking Faith back to Sunnydale and it was going to be Faith/Giles endgame (no love for Wes! I think then I still shipped him with Lilah) (I do not have a bad girl thing).

I'd love to read what you have, I was always looking for "Faith joins Angel Investigations" or "Faith joins the Slayers" stories. The comics weren't....bad? There was a Faith/Angel one, although then they dropped her from it this year, boo.

I think I only read a few of the comics, before I kind of gave up. Comics and me have a complicated history due to accessibility and continuity. :)

My fics from Angel fandom are here - they're all pre-2007, I think, whatever the date on them. And the series I started writing is Chosen One. Only one story in there so far, but I have 15K for the 2nd story so far, I just took a few threads and ended up getting scattered about...
