Yes, she'd have been in SG-1 season 11, if they'd had one. Since SG-1 is gone, so is its budget--she's being paid from the Atlantis budget, now, or at least that's my understanding. No SG-1 revenue means no SG-1 money to pay her; they'd have to find the room in the SGA budget, and, after 10 years, I imagine she's fairly highly paid, so. You trim where you have to in order to afford what you want, I guess. If what they had was an option, then they didn't have to bring her over, but they apparently felt the draw for the SG-1 viewers was worth more than any attachment the existing SGA viewers had to Weir and Carson. So much of this stuff is driven by finances.
I'm hoping they'll get past the McKay infatuation thing quickly and move on to other dynamics. I'd really like to see McKay reach a more, um, mature? place with that. The Shep/Carter thing could be really interesting--not romantically, I mean the sparks that could ignite when he and she have to go through the whole trust/understanding thing he and Weir went through already. Will he test her boundaries the way he did with Weir, or will her higher rank reign him in? Should be cool.
Where are you getting your info re: the Ronon ep? I like spoilers. :)
