The same will happen once it's revealed that Weir will be in one to a handful of episodes next season. Expect worse if she actually dies. This is a very emotional situation for a lot of people and a lot of them were smugly dismissed by others when they predicted that Carter would take over for Weir or that Weir was leaving entirely.
