Just pangs - kind of like period cramps, only lite. Briefly painful then easing back.

Might be food related - I've been eating a lot of wheat-based things lately, when I used to have a very protein/plant based diet. Have to go back to simple stuff again. Also, my abdomen has swollen quite a bit - too many of my trousers don't fit anymore. This is a vanity worry more than anything else.

I'm starting to get really nervous here - in the last three years, just everything seems to have gone wrong. Which, admittedly, is better than the last thirty years, but still daunting, since my expected lifespan is likely to be another forty.

IDK.

<3 I hope you feel better and that it's nothing serious.

Unfortunately, as you know, there's a million reasons for your GI tract being unhappy.

Fortunately, this sounds transitional! So maybe dialling back the unrefined carbs helps (I never have issues with whole-grain rice and grasses).

For what it's worth, many people have issues with legumes the way you describe; I do. I still eat them because it's not like pain-pain, but I don't eat them often for that reason.

I also have to go back to eating better. And cooking. And using lots of fresh produce. Herr Pancreas is Displeased.

Yeah, my doc told me the two best ways to find out why your digestion is off, if it's not some wossname illness thing, are keeping a food diary, and trying elimination diets. Like, the actual strict kind, where you eliminate dairy for 2 weeks or whatever. Keeping a food diary mainly revealed to me how much terrible junk food I was eating.
