The zine submission is done.

The zine submission is done.

The zine submission is done.

It's done like a well-done steak. Done like a dog. Done. Complete. Finitos. Fin.

I mean, I had hoped to have had it done six weeks ago but...I started three separate stories before I lighted on this story idea. Those other two stories racked up about thirty thousand words between them before their plotbunnies got a bad case of myxomatosis and carked it.

Phew. For. That.

Righty. This means my writing time is once again my own. I still have V-Day pairings to write. And In The Game. And the Hugs, Kisses and Cuddles battle. And I should probably check out [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic sometime since I haven't written anything for them in an aeon.

And then there's the Alternate Atlantis 3.5, the Five Crack AUs That Tielan Will Never Write, the [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 ([livejournal.com profile] purple_cube, why did I let you talk me into keeping it?) and this original fiction idea based around The Pinocchio Syndrome.
Why me? No, seriously, I mean it. Why me? Why do I end up with a bazillion plot ideas? Is my brain some kind of bunny-nip for plotbunnies?

So, I think I've got busy to do.

Oh, damn. All that's not even counting the [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang and Rodney/Teyla thingathon over at [livejournal.com profile] sticksandsnark.

ACK!

I'm sure I can get a little writing in before I go to bed. Just a little writing...

I feel like an addict, you know? Stealing moments to write at work, suffering laptop angst, scribbling obscure notes amidst program variables...
Is there a Writers Anonymous group? "My name's T and I'm a writing addict..."

I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with LJs of late. If bad things have happened to you, then *hugs* and I'm sorry I missed it or wasn't there to help.

And, uh, this might seem like an obvious question but after the last week of kerfufflage...is anyone going to be watching Atlantis Season Four? Other than me and a handful of Teyla-fen, I mean.

*puts hand up* or do I come under a "handful of Teyla-fen"? Wasn't sure since Teyla isn't my main SGA focus, just one of many reasons I like to watch, and it's not like I write that much Teyla fic really...
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 12:39 pm (UTC)
Yep, people tend to be more vocal on the matter of not watching - in some ways it's almost like to watch it would be abhorrent and people want to correct any misconception that they might do so. :p

I'm wondering if this is going to split fic writing into divisions of people who watched S4 and derive ideas/plots etc from that, and people who refused to watch and write into AU to correct it. Mind you, with all fic being essentially AU it probably won't make much difference unless anyone in fandom starts getting snotty about those who did watch despite the changes...

LOL! I might as well join with ya. Every time I say I'm not gonna write again, something comes along and finds a way to inspire me. ;)

Last WEEK??? More like MONTHS of nonsense. I'm ignoring them all and watching the show. If I don't like it I'll stop watching, but considering I made it through seasons 9 & 10 of SG-1....;)

It's out on DVD for Region 2 already but I've no clue when it's out for other regions or if anywhere else has bought rights to air it (and I strangely hadn't noticed you're in Australia before). If you need any help acquiring it I could help. ;)

i think I saw an ad on channel 9 for it coming soon...but it'll probably be banished to the midnight hour within two weeks.

Hee! Currently if you want to d/l it you'll have to use BT. Of course, I could always copy my eps for ya and send it to ya. <g>

Oh yes, and congrats on finishing the zine fic! :D

I will still be watching, and I think pretty much everyone on my flist who was already watching is going to continue. Then again I think 75% of the SGA watchers on flist had no idea about the most recent drama or wank, and I know at least 10 of them who are totally spoiler free for the back half of the season.

I'm sure I can get a little writing in before I go to bed. Just a little writing...

So you're saying now wouldn't be a good time to ask if you wanted to write a short story (under 1000 words) for a fic project I'm working on? (and actually, I am serious about this - I'll email you details if you're interested or curious.)

Speaking of said Pinocchio Syndrome, I was so hoping you would get back to that. Hopefully sooner now than later *g*

My prediction is that even most of the people who declare that they won't be watching S4, will. They won't be able to resist it, at least for a while. Of course, that means that they will probably be complaining about it a lot, because they will probably not like at least some of what happens, but most will watch for at least the first few episodes.

That's my suspicion, at least.

why did I let you talk me into keeping it?

Consider it revenge for letting you talk me into writing zine fic. *g*

I suppose those who say that they won't continue to watch SGA are only louder than the ones who will.

That said I'll definitely continue to watch. I wait and see. *sipstea*

Yay for getting your submission done! Get cracking on your fics. My LJ's been dead so don't worry bout that.

I'll be watching S4. *nods* They'd really, really, really have to mess it up for me to quit.

You mean underdog as in fandom's underdog? Because I don't think TPTB intended her to be a wallflower. I don't know what the hell happened, but hopefullly they'll play catch-up and it won't be tres cliche,

Yes, I'm (mostly) optimistic.

This is me so totally not laughing.

:D

Can't wait for S4! I think more people in the fandom might be watching it now, with the latest announcement that went up over at GateWorld this week. At least we won't have to hear the Carson wank (much) any more.
Thursday, April 12th, 2007 01:31 am (UTC)
Three at most. Depending on how generous TPTB and pals decide to be. The more eps, the better I think...so long as it's a believable come back. Less wank from the fandom then.
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 09:35 pm (UTC)
I read that as "Five crack AUs that TEYLA will never write," which started all sorts of plot bunnies. :-)

As for S4 - I can't imagine declaring I wouldn't watch a show I've liked based on the writers who created it in the first place doing what they want with it. If the show no longer holds my interest I'll bail (assuming I decide that I don't want to write any more SGA fanfic as well), but how the heck can I know that in advance?

i'll still watch because i want to see how they get out of this jam and i want to see how the spoilers will turn out because i think the way those were post were not in context. i'm curious how this will play out. though really, in the meantime, i've returned to my pre-atlantis roots of musicslash.
