Little niggling things - like the jaw (have medicated nasal spray to work on sinal passages), the foot (aches a lot after hockey), and just general muscle aches, particularly in the calves and in the temple and back of the head.
It doesn't help that I'm having that whole "why do I think I could write saleable stories" crisis again, fuelled by too many ideas, not enough focus, and (possibly) following too many people who are successful/popular at telling certain types of stories and thinking "I could never write (like) that".
And the unit of work that I'm presently on is...tricky. Plus, temp!supervisor and his timesheet fussing is getting on my nerves and I'm anxious about the hours that are ending up assigned to that, especially if we end up going down a wrong path.

Positive things:
I did have a delicious golden nugget pumpkin for dinner last night - they're small-size pumpkins, practically individual servings. You carve out the insides (seeds and pulp), put in your fillings (chorizo sausage, bacon, lentils, tomato, snow pea sprouts, garlic), and steam for about 30 minutes. I didn't grow the pumpkin (or the lentils, tomatoes, snow peas, or garlic), but I got it at a Crop Swap a week ago. Definitely a nice easy dinner, would make again - possibly even with a 'big' pumpkin as a side dish to something else.
We drew our game on Sunday, but we definitely dominated the field.
I think I've managed to pick all the papers out of my Passacaglia; now I have to put together a backing, and quilt it before the 8th June. While finishing another quilt. EASY PEASY. (ahahahahahah)

Sorry about the jaw. Also the rest of it. Getting older is the worst. I just want my clone body. Or even my cloned replacement parts. THAT'S ALL.
Personally, when it comes to writing, I've given up trying to write like other people. I'm just stuck writing like me. Given the number of people who write absolute crack that sells, why should I worry?
You should look up the Viking Vampire Angel books on Amazon, because that's an exercise in, "What the fuck am I worrying about if people are buying that many books of that shit?" Though I did have to tell a friend that Cnut was an actual Viking name, but explain to her that one really ought to try to name characters with something at least vaguely reminiscent of a modern name.

On one hand: yes, I really should just write crack (I have a whole range of romance novel stories in my head from a series I was writing when I was 20 and the extent of my reading was Harlequin) but it's just so hard to switch off my inner editor and go for it. (Faileena Dropkick being a prime example of just how un-good you can be.)
And yes, the recipe is more of a 'guidelines'. Particularly when you don't want to get a whole pacage of dried herbs for a recipe that you don't use that often!

I'm saying, "Given the absolute crack out there, and the number of people who obviously don't care what other people think of what they write, I think you (generic 2nd person you) have absolute license not to care what anyone else thinks about the content of your writing."
Editing is also another thing entirely. I am of the opinion that EVERYONE should edit. (Going without? That way lies later-era Rice or LKH, horrors.) I see that as a separate issue from content.
You may obviously feel free to feel and think however you feel about the whole shebang. :)
