Remix Revival

I've signed up for Remix Madness (the treats section of remixrevival and already found one person that: a) I want to remix, b) I'm pretty sure wouldn't mind me remixing them.

So that's hopeful.

Well, I didn't sign up with MCU because in most cases that would be all I got remixed, but hmmmm...

Uh, I'm afraid I skipped over your sign-up, because I think MCU is the only one that we have in common and you hadn't listed that and asked for people not to remix fandoms you hadn't requested. Which I totally understand!

(If you don't mind me remixing one of your MCU fics, then I will definitely see what can be done.)

I find picking up PHs and participating in Remix Madness is a better option for me: it means I get to choose a story that I can (probably) remix over having it chosen for me.

(Plus, my character tastes do not generally align with broader fandom, so I end up both as remixer and remixee to someone who writes 99.9% slash and nobody is particularly happy about it.)

Yeah... the first time I signed up for the remix, I got assigned someone with 3 explicit sex slash pairings, and two explicit sex threesomes. I... write gen. :)

Yes, the odds are stacked against you in general remixes if you write primarily het or gen, or femme-centric stories. It's very frustrating.

Exchanges in general are 100% more fun for me if I maybe do pinch hits, and write treats for friends or to prompts that really grab me. I know writing to matches and getting a gift based on some is a big part of the fun for other people, but a lot of the time it freezes me up. //speshul snowflake

For Remix Madness, I tend to look for people I know or fandoms that we share. (And tbh, fandoms that we share/something I really want to remix tends to take precedence over people I know; I'm really lazy about that.)
