It seems that my [community profile] homemade2homemade swap has gone missing in the post, and I foolishly forgot that the Royal Mail is full of assholes who think nothing of opening packages and stealing what's inside (this makes 3 times I've lost a package through Royal Mail), and didn't get tracking.

So I get to make another one all over again!!!!

I'll be making the replacement in October, mostly because it was a lot of work the first time, it's spring in my garden, and I've just started a six week contract under a new manager and it's proving 'interesting'.

Plus, I'm currently halfway through a challenge of "100 days, 100 blocks" for the Tula Pink City Sampler, and if I don't finish this, then I won't ever get it done.

The challenge is to make the 100 blocks of fabric designer Tula Pink's "City Sampler". I borrowed the book off a friend and have been steadily making blocks for the last two months...

Over halfway there!

Every block is 6.5" square, and you can put them together straight or you can sash-and-post them. Some people colour-scheme theirs; I haven't, I'm just making it with whatever I can throw together. And at the end, there will be a quilt!

I feel like I've lost quilting mojo (or "sewjo" as the mom-punners like calling it) in the last year. I still enjoy it, but the garden needs more attention right now - I'm in that 'been gearing up to go, but it's about to hit peak and is everything ready to rumble?' stage when things require attention and work. Plus, chickens are an effort and a half.

It's just past 6am and the chooks are making early morning wakeup noises.

That sucks :/ - with the royal mail there are certain areas that are worse for those with 'light fingers', Lancashire and Thames area Essex are bad, while Dorset tends to be fine.... (I worked casual at our local depo at one point, where it was known that people lifted things, but did they have any security to make sure it didn't happen? nope....not once did they even do a bag check. It's insane).

These are some v pretty squares (and I do love the Tula pink fabrics)

In all honesty, I don't think the Royal Mail ever had those secuirty measures in the first place - so it's less withdrawing and more ignoring everyone pointing out how many of their staff have been done for theft *face palm*
