If anyone works out how this comm works, I'd love it if you can condense it down for me. I'm still trying to work my brain around what happens.

(Actually, lately I'm trying to work my brain around a lot of things. Too much happening all at once and stuff leaks out around the edges.)

There's a topic? Then people write about that topic in their own journal? Then they post a link to the comm journal? People read the stuff they've written and vote on it?

Maybe?

Actually, in a hilarious (and possibly widespread) case of irony, I don't know that I actually want to interact more on DW. I mean, I love people and the things that affect their lives, but DW and everything takes time. I used to spend at least an hour first thing in the morning trying to get on top of the reading list, just checking out what was happening in the worlds of personal lives and fandoms. And then there was the answering of comments. How to be careful and respectful and not hurt people while responding to them. Oy.

The things you realise when you're going down the reading list and realise there's a lot of stuff there and it might help people's interaction if you actually, you know, interacted with them.

I'm sure others must feel this way. The introvert's dilemma: we like interacting with people whose company we enjoy, but it still takes up time when we could be doing things by ourselves...

Speaking of: I have a card post up if you'd like a bit of snail mail this season - Christmas, seasonal, or A Card With Stuff On.

(Actually, I just like sending snail mail. I do need to work on my calligraphy, but my envelope seal game is pretty strong.)

AFAI can tell:
Each week the mod posts a "topic"
Each contestant makes a post in their own journal that addresses the "topic", & links it back in the community.
All the contestants read each other's posts.
At the end of the week everyone votes for their favourite posts.
Some people are eliminated.

There appears to be some more depth to the contest which I can only imagine one gleans by actually participating & talking to other contestants etc.
It definitely doesn't sound like anything I would want to participate in, but if you decide to do it, good luck!

Yeah I think if it's something one has the motivation, time & energy for it would be a great way to meet people & make friends & get involved in a fun and engaging activity! (As long as you didn't mind the threat of being "voted off" every week.)

You can probably subscribe to the comm & read all the green room posts etc & get an idea of what it's all about for the rest of the current "Season" & make a decision at the next intake, if you wanted.
