Don't know if I can play this year. After a game or training, my right toe hurts. As in, inside the toe, under the nail bed. Also, in the first major toe joint, at the ball of the foot. Even walking can produce a short, intense stab of pain that swiftly fades.

I'll be really sad if I can't play, though. I do enjoy the game, the competition, the edge of it. I like playing a team sport, and I like this team.

*sigh*

Ouch! Sounds like turf toe. Gotta take care of it!

Maybe see a podiatrist and see if there's a brace or an insole you can use. I know they make some to specifically solve problems with feet.

It would be a shame to give up hockey!

What a shame!

I had to give up on fencing because it kills my knees. Only sport I really enjoyed, too...

oh man. I'm sorry, I know how it feels to have something physical take you out of a sport. I'm sorry.
