Alternatives to Amazon if you want to shop better
Obviously, sometimes people have to go for cheapest, fastest, easiest, least-stressful. But if you can go the extra 500m then maybe consider getting somethign from one the stores listed at that link.
No guarantees that their practices are any better than Amazon's, mind you; at face value, all they have going for them is that they're not Giant Warehouse Shopping Of Suckyness To Employees. Obviously, some places are going to be better than others.
