Tamil family's temporary stay of deportation
The outrageous part of this is that they've been here six years, working in a semi-rural community and being part of that community. Their daughters were born here. But because someone in Home Affairs decided that they weren't at risk of death if they were sent back to Sri Lanka, they've been fighting the system for the last two years.
And it turns out that the Department of Home Affairs (in charge of assessing cases such as this) is one of the least pleasant places to work in the public service.

FFA: I actually read one of the Endgame threads about people's responses. It was interesting to see how people's opinions match...as well as how they don't.
