I'm sorry I didn't put more in the sign up; I was going to modify and then I forgot and didn't get it done before sign-ups closed. I hope you're a letter-reader and not an insta-ODAO!

Dear Everywoman Author,
Thank you for writing for me!
What is here are ideas which I'm particularly interested in seeing. If these don't match with what you have in mind, then by all means take your own course. My only request is that the characters we matched on should be at the centre of the story.
DNW: Sexual relationships/romance between the characters, at least for this round.
General Likes: Friendship and respect, even in the face of disagreements. I like stories about their interactions both personally and professionally, about women finding ways to work together, finding solutions to problems in unexpected ways. I enjoy reading about characters wrangling other people and tricky situations, and having their work and efforts be recognised - if not by everyone, then at least by those closest to them.
Hopefully these things work for you, too!
In each fandom, I've put down pairings I like for the listed characters. If you want to include one of these pairings on the side, go ahead. However, apart from these pairings, please don't insert or reference other pairings - even canon ones.
Pacific Rim:
Pairings I like: Mako/Raleigh, Angela Hansen/Herc Hansen
Canon notes: Didn't enjoy Pacific Rim Uprising, ignore that it happened or is going to happen.
Fannish Likes: I'd like more about the relationships we don't see, which are implied behind the scenes - strong women sticking together in a time of crisis, lifting each other up, getting the job done.
Mako:
- her childhood before the kaiju
- her life in the Shatterdome with all the people around her (including other female characters from the extended universe)
- the relationships in her life, both with the female characters from the extended universe and characters such as Pentecost, Raleigh, Duke, and Herc.
Mako & Tamsin:
- two very different women who are shown meeting in 'Tales From Year Zero' comic; how do they bond?
- Tamsin and giving advice to Mako (about dealing with the boys' club, or how to fix an engine, or even 'the sex talk'.
Angela Hansen:
- what if Angela Hansen survived Scissure's attack on Sydney?
- I just like this character, the implications of a personality that anchored her husband and her son in the Drift so long after her death.
- Note: I'm Australian, please take your hand away from the common 'Aussie tropes' and write her as a person who happens to be an Australian (like writing a person who happens to be a woman, or a person who happens to be black).
MCU:
pairings I like: Pepper/Tony, Jane/Thor, Maria/Steve, Natasha/Bucky, Natasha/Clint, Valkyrie/Thor, Wanda/Vision, Maria/Bucky, Bucky/Shuri, Clint/Laura
Canon Notes: Not fond of Endgame. Either rewrite it, go completely AU, or set before Endgame (with the implications that Endgame isn't going to happen). All other female characters from MCU are good as cameos and additionals, but I'd like the story to be about the characters we matched on, please.
Fannish Likes: I don't mind fusion AUs for this fandom. I enjoy paranormal/fantasy AUs and 'unpowered AUs', but if you have something that you're particularly wanting to try, then go for it!
Pepper Potts and Jane Foster and Maria Hill and Helen Cho:
- friendships at the tower during the days between the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers facility, commonality beyond 'we're dating/working with the Avengers'
- AU: all-female Avengers team
Peggy Carter and Maria Hill:
- Peggy meets and sponsors Maria into S.H.I.E.L.D because this young woman has potential
- post Avengers 2012, Maria goes to Peggy for reassurance that the Avengers are not going to fuck it all up
Natasha Romanov and Maria Hill and Pepper Potts:
- ROAD TRIP (entirely ridiculous and frivolous permitted and expected)
- work competence, dealing with any of the guys
Maria Hill and Pepper Potts:
- friendship at any point, possible even multiple points.
Maria Hill:
- I always want to see more characters valuing Maria Hill and the things she does sorting things out from behind the scenes.
Okoye and Valkyrie:
- YAS, QUEENS
- dealing with royalty
- commanding flights of women fighters and dealing with day to day issues
Brunnhilde | Valkyrie (Marvel) and Wanda Maximoff and Jane Foster and Maria Hill :
- any hijinks on Earth for whatever reason
- All-Female Avengers Team AU
- "Together, they fight intergalactic crime" AU
Jane Foster and Sif (MCU Movies Only):
- friendship, understanding, and life in Asgard (or on Earth?)
- a random story of adventure where Sif needs Jane to help her with something, or Jane pulls Sif into one of her experiments?
Rogue One:
pairings: Jyn/Cassian, Lyra/Galen
Canon: I really enjoyed Rogue One, even the ending where they all die. I have seen all the Star Wars movies, I haven't seen The Clone Wars - but please do not let that stop you from writing Ahsoka, or referencing things that happen in TCW!
Fannish thoughts: Having said that I enjoyed the movie, I also really like stories where Everyone Lives, or More People Live and they continue on in the Rebellion. Also: Women In The Rebellion.
Jyn Erso:
- the experiences that made her who she is through the years, including her time with Saw and his Partisans, and the work she's done through the ages
- moments when she encountered the Rebels, or missed interacting with them by a moment or a closed door
Lyra Erso and Mon Mothma:
- Look, I just like the idea of these two women encountering each other and dealing with each other at any point in the timeline (or in a Lyra Lives AU)
Lyra Erso and Ahsoka Tano:
- same goes for Lyra and Ahsoka, possibly with a little about the Jedi or that khyber crystal of Jyn's mixed in
Jyn Erso and Leia Organa:
- if Jyn lived and stayed on in the Rebellion; how would she and Leia interact?
- did Jyn encounter Leia at some other point, before either of them are publically with the Rebellion?
Jyn Erso and Ahsoka Tano:
- Jyn's khyber crystal - a Jedi ancestor? Something more sinister?
- Jyn and Ahsoka meeting before the events of R1? Or Jyn being marginally trained by Ahsoka after? (Luke Skywalker is a lightsaber - a visible sign; but sometimes being in the Force is as small and unnoticed as a piece of jewellery worn around the neck, clung to at tense moments.)
Jyn Erso and Lyra Erso:
- mothers and daughters don't always get along or agree.
- rescuing Galen from the clutches of the Empire.
- things of life that one learned from the other.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
pairings: Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Riley
Canon: I was hugely into Buffy up to Season 3, watched Season 4 through, glimpsed a few eps of S5, 6, and 7, but I know what happens. I have a rough idea of what happens in the comics continuation, but it doesn't bother me much. I don't need to know absolutely everything. Basically: don't let my limitations of canon knowledge inhibit your story!
Fannish thoughts: So many thoughts about this, okay. I like stories that stay in the Buffyverse, that explore relationships or character perspectives. Also: characters who are complicated and which have to be dealt with more
Faith Lehane :
- Faith has become my favourite in the Slayerverse over the years. I think it must have been so difficult coming in to find Buffy with her backup and her friendship and her Watcher, particularly to someone as isolated as Faith is.
- I'd love an AU where Faith comes to Sunnydale with Wesley Wyndham Pryce already as her watcher - the darker-and-scruffier Wesley that we see in Angel.
Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane :
- friendship and competition
- sisters under the skin
Buffy Summers and Maggie Walsh :
- I was disappointed how easily they killed Maggie off in S4. I was really hoping for more tug-of-war between Buffy and Maggie regarding everything from the Initiative to Riley: either subtle pressure, or out-and-out war.
Buffy Summers and Kendra Young :
- Kendra was so terribly wasted by getting killed off within a handful of episodes of her introduction: a story about her and Buffy working together (hunting, commisserating, learning about each other) would be fantastic
Angel:
pairings: Faith/Wes, Fred/Gunn, Buffy/Angel
Canon: I only saw Angel to the end of S4 and then read the spoilers for S5, but never ended up watching it. I roughly know the spoilers for S5 and the comics, but please don't let that stop you from writing things set in those eras.
Fannish thoughts: My favourite stretch of Angel episodes is where Wes encourages Faith to break out of the LA prison.
Faith Lehane :
- working with the Fang Gang after Wes breaks her out (at W&H or not, as you prefer)
- moving through LA - the Slayer with the criminal past
Faith Lehane and Winifred "Fred" Burkle and Cordelia Chase :
- three very different women dealing with each other
- taking on a Monster-of-the-Week together as a team
Faith Lehane and Buffy Summers (Angel):
- I've mentiond how Faith must have struggled coming into Buffy's world in Buffy S3; I'd like to see that turned around, with Faith working with the Fang Gang at Wolfram and Hart in an alternate S5, and Buffy turning up and being the outsider to the way Faith works
Stargate - All Media Types:
pairings: Teyla/John, Sam/Jack
Canon: I was happy enough with the overall direction of fandom, but I really wanted more about the peoples they met through the Stargate and less colonialism.
Fannish thoughts:
Teyla Emmagan:
- walking a balance between Earth and Pegasus
- friendships with others in the Atlantis expedition - particularly women, but also the guys, including her team-mates.
Sam Carter :
- SG1 team fic that centres Sam is always welcome: any SG1 team era
- where she's been, where she's going, what she's never going to have
Teyla Emmagan and Sam Carter:
- friendship, competence, dealing with situations
- when Carter is in Atlantis, she asks Teyla for advice on a diplomatic snafu
So. These are all suggestions and ideas. They are not hard and fast 'you must do this', but they're things in the vein of my preferences. If you can write them, that would be amazing, but if not, then write what you have in mind with the characters that we matched on.
In the end, thank you so much for writing for me, and I look forward to seeing where you take your creativity about these characters we love!
I'm sorry I didn't put more in the sign up; I was going to modify and then I forgot and didn't get it done before sign-ups closed. I hope you're a letter-reader and not an insta-ODAO!
