Today has been a 'climb back in under the covers and forget about the world' kind of day.

Apart from waking at 4:45am, not getting up until 7:30, burning the coffee, overcooking the eggs, forgetting that I promised my mother some basil from the garden and therefore having to run it around just as everyone and their puppy is getting kids to school, coming home after picking up breakfast and coffee from a cafe and putting my foot into a house slipper full of cat pee, then bashing my head against one of the open laundry doors...

I have no concentration, no confidence, no energy at work. I haven't got any inspiration to write. I just want to crawl back into bed and fall asleep. UGH.

I’ve been sleeping like I invented it.  It must be February.

Environment might be a factor - if the air is too dry, that can disrupt your breathing - as can sleep apnea, but you'd have a history of that and this sounds like a new thing.  Some discomfort is disrupting your sleep pattern, half-waking you.  Noise, maybe?

Eventually, of course, you'll sleep regardless but at an inconvenient time - like driving…

You may find valerian or melatonin helpful - available over the counter.

Well, if this continues, I suggest looking on eBay for an oxygen concentrator.  It chemically absorbs nitrogen - which is, like, 80% of air - leaving oxygen-enriched content delivered by nose piece or simply exhausted into the room.  Marvelous; you can hold your breath forever! - or sleep undisturbed through apnea.

I seem to need way more sleep than usual too.

OMG. If that's not a sign you SHOULD go back to bed and ignore the world, I don't know what is!

That’s what happened with me, also:  I was just a lump.  Finally I threw it in and went back to bed.

*hugs* Definitely a day to write off.

What is the process for getting checked out to see if you have sleep apnea?

That sounds marvelously simple. *envies*

Anyway, it might be worth looking into -- if nothing else, a negative sleep apnea evaluation could tick off one thing that isn't dragging you down, so you could concentrate on other potential sources of ugh.

Hey.

I still think you rock.
