Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag 10 authors!

1. Dark Knight: Dominion: She did not fear death.

2. Chicken Soup For The Spock: Once it was ascertained that his illness was neither a concerning disease, nor that he was not contaigious to the crew, Spock was permitted to return to his quarters.

3. Absent Friends: The bar in Iowa feels strangely empty.

4. The Most Australian Jaegers That Ever There Were: On a cool morning in May 2017, the Sydney Shatterdome is formally opened.

5. How Not To Take All Your Toys And Go Home: Maria calls Rhodey first because his body might be in recovery; the tactical sharps of his brain is not.

6. Seen And Unseen: Perhaps most terrifying is that it’s the women who see him most clearly for what he is, and are willing to use him to the full extent of his experience and knowledge.

7. Lost And Found: As it starts to sink in that they've won the Battle of Wakanda, an odd thought pings against Steve's brain: Tony has a daughter.

8. Sokovia, Suburbia, and the Senate: Dinner was from Portillos: burgers, Italian beef sandwiches, chips, and onion rings.

9. A Time of Confidences: It’s distinctly unnerving to watch yourself walking up the ramp of a spaceship.

10. The Gathering Clouds: An icy wind whipped the loose ends of Maria’s hair as they landed in drifting snow.

11. Circling To A Close: The weyrlings are off-limits.

12. 'Smith' Will Suffice: Clint wasn’t surprised that such a scrawny guy could put up such a fight; after all, he’d been a scrawny guy once, a long time back.

13. Behind Every Great Woman: Natasha trusts Maria Hill has a good reason for being crouched over what looks like a SHIELD hacking interface in the foyer of the Quinjet hangar of the Tower.

14. First Glimpse Of Hearts: Steve pauses at the edge of the gardens, taking a moment to breathe in the warm scent of the midmorning, not yet the intense heat of the midday and afternoon, but swiftly heading there.

15. Survivors: "Next question," says Raleigh, his hand wrapped firmly about Mako's.

16. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Hero Scorned: The call comes mid-morning, while she's reviewing intel on a lab in Guilin, China.

17. Another Suitcase in Another Hall: Two weeks after he rides out of New York City, Steve Rogers rides back into town again.

18. The Coming Future: In the chaos after the moment - that moment - Shuri has but one thought: to assure herself that T'Challa has survived.

19. Of Princesses And Witches: Princess Esmerelda Margaret Note Spelling of Lancre does not suffer anyone to call her 'Spelly'.

20. the inconvenience of an apology: Maria moves through the crowds like she knows exactly where she’s going.

I suck at deciding if there's patterns in my stories. Doesn't everyone write like this? Opening with a bang, putting out scene/problem at the get-go, or setting up the theme/feel of the story? Isn't that how stories work?
