I know that going for a jog makes me feel all kinds of better. It's just such a pain to actually be doing it when you're doing it.

I have a persisting throaty throat - kind of like a hacking cough, only not actually at the hacking stage.

Also, this morning the way I tell that school has begun is by watching all the cars pull up outside my house so parents can walk their kids along the walkway that joins our street with the school street. The school is 50m past the walkway exit onto the school street, and it's a way of avoiding all the traffic in front of the school come dropoff time.

I mean, plenty of parents walk their kids to school in this area, too, but the sudden crowd of cars (and people using our driveway and the neighbour's to turn around) is always a giveaway, even when I don't know what day it is.

Alas, it is a Monday and I have work things to do. Le sigh.

I loved running. I loved being out and seeing the trees and flowers and smelling the air. I miss that. You could actually go places.

Unfortunately age and arthritis have taken that away - but boxing and climbing have replaced it.

I look forward to hearing about you and hockey again!

Mondays are the very cruellest beast.
