fandoms and fanfic

Sometimes you end up reading fanfic for fandoms you're not even in.

Right now, I'm reading a Formula One AU for Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne, and damme if it doesn't have me hooked.

I did this for the X-Files, too, oh, two decades ago. Couldn't watch the show and didn't want to, but I could read fic...

*laughs* I think I might pass on the supercut for the moment, but I'll keep it in mind for the future! Sometimes you're just happy reading something that's thoroughly enjoyable, you know?

Although I am madly googling GoT characters so I can work out who the heck is whom.

The damn thing has 51 chapters and over 400,000 words and I am presently in a state of asking myself what I have done with my life...

I’ve definitely done this in other fandoms! And I’m not usually a modern/no powers AU fan in fantasy canons, but with GoT I’ve really enjoyed several.

My own personal favorites are probably the Always Been a Pencil series by Vera_Dragonmuse and The Lion, the Wench and the Wardrobe Trailer by GilShalos1.
