Ukrainian Christmas and other things

Going to a Ukrainian Christmas tonight, hosted by a family friend who's lived here for decades, but has been making friends with Ukrainian refugees from the last year.

Must remember to take my sewing bag; apparently some of the refugees have been working together in a sewing group in the part of Sydney where many of them have settled.

It's raining again, quite heavily, somewhat tiringly. It's supposed to be very wet today, then ease off tomorrow and be bright and hot and sunny on Monday. So I'm working today (or most of it) and taking Monday off at the beach. Or something. Somewhere.

It may be cruel and mean and terrible, but I am really enjoying the memes coming out of Kevin McCarthy's inability to get himself elected speaker.

I wonder if I'm too cold at night and that's why I'm not sleeping well enough to keep from being tired by midafternoon.

I don't think it's cruel and mean and terrible, I think it's funny. I don't want to see him as house speaker. I also don't want the guy from Florida either and that also includes the big orange baby.
