I'm tired and headachey, my body twinges in all kinds of places (mostly muscular aches, things that I did and am still doing), and my period turned up WITH A VENGEANCE on Saturday night around 1am, which ended my evening at Frocktails.
That was a good ending, in fact, not a bad one.
The Frocktails was up in the Blue Mountains, it was at a hotel where you could get rooms booked and everything, and while my room had the bathroom separate (like, your own private bathroom, with a number and an old-fashioned lock-key that matched the one for your bedrooms door) it was still a room in the hotel! I could just go upstairs and go to bed! So nice!
I ended up finishing one dress that's been sitting around in pieces for the last two years:

Thought about wearing it, but decided it was a little too 'functional'. It felt a bit like scrubs, although someone pointed out it didn't have enough pockets for scrubs. Which, fair call. Still, it's a nice 'afternoon shopping' dress - it's actually called the Tea House dress (by Sew House Seven Patterns) and is a pretty good not-too-difficult pattern.
It just took me two years to move my butt to do it.
I saw someone else at the Frocktails who'd made their frock from that patterns, but since I wasn't wearing it to the actual party, it didn't count as "someone made something from the same pattern".
What I ended up wearing was the Sicily Slip Dress that I finished just before I went overseas last year. I figured it should get some wear this season!
In the bathroom and slightly blurry on the steps in front of the hotel:

The pic in the bathroom was in a public area with a couple of sinks, an ironing board, somewhere for you to dry your hair, etc. And then there were the individual bathrooms down a corridor, all fully enclosed and locked up.
A photo from the back, showing off the tattoo. One more reason that I like this dress design; it displays the tatt really well:

It was a pretty good weekend away. I had the BEST massage ever - it got out all the kinks, was exactly as hard as I needed, and while I didn't sleep like a baby (first night of period is always difficult), I slept well enough.

Now it's the week and back to everything. I'm so tired. I could get a wash and go to bed early (ahahahahaha) but I shall try to write another 500 words to the main story and then a little bit to a couple of fics. Yes. Will try. It's probably the period, but I'm just MEH.
So 'meh' I ended up going for a COVID test and skipping hockey training tonight. But I suspect it's just the respiratory issue again.
