I just want to make cake.

I'd like one slice of cake, maybe two. Maybe one for now, one slice for later, and then another frozen for much later?

Layer cake. With buttercream filling and frosting. I'm currently watching a lot of Sugarologie's videos:

I might be slightly in love with the way she pipes icing. Even piping the icing on my sister's cupcakes on the weekend gave my hands cramps. (My hand strength is getting worse these days.)

Anyway, cake.

I would like to lose some of my waist. I want to fit into shorts, trousers, and jeans without having to go and buy new ones (because I don't like the styles, it costs money, and I hate clothes shopping generally anyway). This requires cutting down on my sugar intake, at the very least.

It's difficult to find somewhere to talk about this - my body is perfectly capable of doing all the things I want it to do in terms of physical movement and motion, and what it can't has nothing to do with my weight but with advancing age, trying to lift giant pots when I shouldn't, and thinking I can play hockey like I'm thirty rather than heading for fifty.

I just want to lose some girth so I don't have to go hunting for more shorts/pants/trousers/whatever. And, yes, I would like to look as though I have a waist. Unfortunately, due to my body type, my waist is the first place the insulation goes and the last place to take it off.

Food-related: B1 wants me to go through the deep-freezer and do a stocktake of what we actually have in there. I think we have some meat bones that are perhaps old and need to be boiled up for stock. (Which at least can keep for another 6 months.)

Went to breakfast with SB1, SSIL1 and the nephlet (10mo) and it was good. The food was ordinary but it was good to chat with them and see the nephlet, because they live in western Europe and seeing them is Not The Easiest Thing. They're going back next week, but I'll visit them in December when I'm in western Europe.

I'm a little worried about Smokey - while both she and Mal are getting old (coming up to 11 years), she's always been a bit more delicate than Mal. More tummy troubles with attendant issues at either end. And she's getting old and vocal. Some odd noises this morning, but once she'd done her biz, evicted a hairball, drank, ate, and done some more biz, she seemed okay...

*sigh*

Wow, she put a lot of work into making the frostings with substitutes for preference of ingredients. Pretty cool.

No advice, but I relate to your weight loss reasons. Like, when I gained weight the only reason I kind of wanted it off (I say kind of because I'm usually underweight, which I've come back to due to loss of appetite from bupropion) was because my goddamn jeans and bras wouldn't fit and I didn't have the money for new ones and also I wanted them to fit, goddammit. Good luck though!

I always want cake.

Now I want that buttercream that tastes like Oreos.

I have gained 10-15 lbs, blaming perimenopause because my eating habits are the same. Like you, it's all in my middle, and I miss having somewhat of a waist. Also need new bras and wish those fit better. I need new ones because my old ones are OLD, but I need to go up a band size.

I've been the same bra size for a long time, but with the weight gain, the 34 band on a new bra was too small. So I went to a 36, but they told me to go down a cup size. I really don't think it made a difference. This was the same shop where I've gotten the same style for a decade, but of course they redesigned slightly. That's the only reason I tried on that day instead of just buying more of the same.
