Hong Kong: interesting but also tiring

The 1881 Heritage Precinct:

Which is right outside the old HK Police HQ building, built in a very traditional colonial style:

Some contrast in the care of pipes:

The unusual design interiors of the YMCA HK:

And old gardens with older trees:

The sky has been super-atmospheric: lots of clouds, shifting light, a glimpse of sun here and there. Temp is a balmy 20-26C.

As ever, HK is meticulously kept:

A leaf that risked dying on those limbs would be shamed for clinging to the branch!

(That, and an army of service workers come in and keep everything spic-and-span.)

Today, I mostly went to the HK Public Library at Central and tried to write. Failed a lot. *sigh*

Also had dinner with my brother and his daughter, ordered a new pair of glasses, and caught the bus back all on my lonesome. (Okay, so Dad and the brother put me on the correct bus, but small steps! SMALL STEPS.)

Tomorrow:
- hunt up a garden and a good coffee (nearby, opens early - not too much food)
- go watch the Matildas' game at an Australian bar (hopefully the local one is open and screening it)
- something with dad in the afternoon. I'm not 100% what. I wanted to do some wetlands and a permaculture garden, but neither are very accessible. I think he wants me to check out the outer reaches of HK Island. But maybe we could do the HK Museum of Art. They have a display or two that I'm interested in.

I'm hoping to get to see Macao, but I think that's a day trip and the best option for that would probably be Monday. Which means if I want to do a high tea, probably best to do it Sunday afternoon, which is also the busiest day of the week and the most expensive.

On the plus side, my tax returns for the '22 and '23 financial years are coming back and I should not be destitute when I return home.

Thank you for posting the pics of HK - I was born there but have not been there since I was 18 months old, so I have only the vaguest notions of how it might look. These are really interesting details!
