We have a fly problem. Dozens and dozens of them in the house, not quite a swarm but there's sure a lot of them.

Where are they coming from? We don't know. Maybe the outside through the (holey) screen door? What we know is there are HEAPS of them. Like we've killed at least fifty in the last 48 hours. And B1 has had enough.

We're carpet-bombing the house tonight tomorrow. I talked B1 into doing it tomorrow instead of having us hole up in our rooms overnight. The cats will be sealed away in the laundry (with a window cracked and water and food and litter) and we'll stick a towel under the door so they don't get gassed along with the flies.

Hopefully the flies aren't birthing themselves in the cat litter. Because ew.

Anyway, B1 has work tomorrow, and I was going in to the city early to go swimming at Marrinawi Cove before coming back to have lunch with friends. Better get my bag ready with all the bits.

We get gnats, which are super annoying because they're small and hard to kill by swatting them. You can end up with literally hundreds in your house in the summer because they can get in through any crack available.

Fortunately a builder come up with a "gnat killer" that is a liquid mixture you can put out in a room and it attracts them and they land in it and can't get out.

They might be laying eggs in your sink drain. Are they concentrated in any one particular area?
