Thank you for the well-wishes. I'm coping. Ish.

1:45pm

I went back to bed after my update this morning, fell asleep for two hours, woke up right on my doc's appointment. Getting out of bed was more adrenaline than awakeness at that point.

A hot and flustered change (tracksuit bottoms? shorts? what the hell do I have available to wear that's decent?) and drive later (honestly, if I'd been asked to pass a driving test, I think I would have failed due to muzzy), I reached the doc.

I like this doc, he's old, Indian-Australian, been here as long as my family, trained here. Wry and a bit old school, still carrying on at 70+. He knows me - I've been seeing him for the respiratory issues of the last couple of years and he 'charges Medicare' which means I don't pay anything up-front.

He checked my test, asked my symptoms, went to look up if I was in the risk profile that allowed me the antiviral medication, and when it turned out I wasn't, he found me a 'sample pack'. I was to take medication, test at 4pm, and then take more medication at night. And he wants to see me again on Wednesday.

I've had some lovely offers of dropoffs and queries if I need assistance. The neighbour got us some citrus at my request (and tossed in some raspberries. We'll repay them in eggs. A friend has Amazon Prime and asked if I needed anything delivered (I don't, but it's appreciated). A church friend who's working from home asked if we needed anything dropped off, but with the neighbour we were fine, so I asked if anyone has nearly-but-not-yet-expired RATs since B1 has to test daily for the next week.

Mind you, it might be a good idea to get a bunch of RATs laid up for the coming months. Looks like there's a new wave coming around.

I had pumpkin (and onion and ginger) soup with chickpeas for lunch, a cup of honey, ginger, and lemon tea (thanks, neighbour). And now I think I'm going to lie down and conk out for another 2 hours.

ETA: I had this all typed up and then two sets of things-that-need-to-be-done-now hit (one of them work - this co-worker is slightly anxious) and it is now 2 hours later. Might take that test and go naptime.
