Couple of days of 'relatively nothing'.
Walked to the polling booth this morning - 200m max, no queues, walked straight in, sat down to vote for local council, walked straight out. Met my neighbour, toddled home. Nearly literally 'toddled'.
Birthday lunch at parentals with sisters, before parentals go off for two weeks to help child sit with stepbrother and SSIL in central NSW. Picked up some library books.
Came home, took the bandages and the 'steri-strips' off. It looks like I've been sewn together with fishing line! But things seem to be healing okayish? Only a teeny bit of seeping here and there.
The twinges aren't comfortable and mostly I'm worrying that I'm tearing things, opening wounds, etc. Although the twinges also aren't happening at the points where I've been stitched up.
Anyway, I'm going to take a shower without the bandages to clean off the crusty blood bits, let everything dry, and then put some more bandages back on.

Suture really is a lot like fishing line, ahaha. The absorbable ones are pretty amazing though. The twinges are likely to be adhesions, it's a sign you're healing!

The twinges are almost certainly not you tearing things. Nerves are cranky little suckers and I'd be willing to bet they're just reminding you that you insulted them and they're randomly firing off pain because they're confused and irritated ;)
I wouldn't worry about the twinges yet, because your body is still trying to figure out what just happened and what it's supposed to do about it. It's still doing classic Trek "red alert" where everyone is running around and yelling.

LOL. Okay, that's reassuring. Thank you!
I've seen the "stapled together" seams - my sister had surgery on her skull to release some fluid build up at 22 and they stapled her back together! As you said it was very Frankenstein.
