Going well, so far as I can tell.

Occasional twinges, because sometimes I overdo it. (haha. I probably overdo it ALL THE TIME it's just now my body is like "ALERT ALERT YOU SHOULD NOT BE THROWING THAT LOG, REQUIRES CORE STRENGTH THAT HAS LAPSED") But other than a general tiredness and some soreness when I press on the scars (B1: "don't press on the scars!")

a little bit intimate maybe
I think the stitches at the top of the vagina (I can't remember if they took the cervix or not; will ask the gyno when I go back) have come out. Which was expected - the lovely nurse on Sunday morning explained things I could expect, which was very much welcome.

I went out on public transport yesterday - a dry run of what I'll be doing next week. It was a lovely warm dry day, and I went and had brunch with a friend. But it was a bit tiring, and I didn't even have to go in to work!

I'm going in to a nearby office for half a day today; full public transport. It'll take me an hour to get a distance that would otherwise take me 20 minutes to drive, the difficult part is that there's no parking at the destination, and they're expecting quite a few people to come in today. Also, I'll be arriving late - at least 10:30, and the easiest way to get a park is by arriving super-early in the day.
ETA: sister has offered to drive me in and pick me up on her way to other things! YAY!

Come home, have an afternoon nap (nice rainy weather for it) and head off to a friend's birthday dinner.

I saw a Threads post which claimed Sydney was the 3rd worst city (in the world? In major cities that average people in the USA might be able to name along with the country it's actually in) for making friends.

Well, if it's the 3rd worst, I'm bloody glad I don't live anywhere else. I'd be all friended out, frankly.

Yesterday, I met a friend for brunch, messaged a friend to see if I could borrow her overlocker, was given a lift to bible study by a friend, messaged another friend whose gone back to the USA for family issues, and chatted with friends about the Minute Cryptic across one of the chat apps. And then at the end of the day, I chatted with B1 about one of her work clients who's in a bad situation.

They're not deep friendships, the kind that you unburden yourself to day and night, but they don't need to be - they shouldn't be. Lots of people, there at the edges of your social connections, happy to step in and help for a day here and a day there, knowing that they're not the only ones you have to rely on. Did it take time? Yes! About 15 years to get to where I am, weathering various stages of distance and closeness, sickness and health, regular meetings slowly shifting to once-in-a-while catch-ups, and then ramping up once the kids are grown and (semi-)independent.

I'm very very grateful for friendships and connections (including you, dear DWircle) in all my spaces and places and phases.
