travel update: out of my hands

So to speak.

The host of a podcast I listen to, Sarah Holland of Pantsuit Politics, is doing a tour of Derbyshire with a Pride&Prejudice slant to it. It dovetails VERY NEATLY with the other two tours I'm doing. And I just reserved my place.

So it looks like LA/Disneyland is off the books after all. I'm sorry to miss seeing these friends at this time, but also Disney isn't my thing and I was mostly going for them.

Rather, I will cross North America via Canada. In via Toronto, out via Vancouver. Or via New Zealand. Whichever. (I could do a day or two in NZ, perhaps?)

It's kind of sad, but also kind of a relief, I guess, to have it taken out of my hands.

Although what I'm going to do if the US really does set its sights on Canada, I don't know.

All that said, I have floated the idea of dropping through LA for a day or so to see them before heading home, but that might be a lot to ask of them with the extra trips to the airport. Then again, it might be that I will arrive with the others spend a day or two with them then head home before they do the whole Disney thing.

Hah. I may have left a few bits out there.

1. In via Toronto, out via Vancouver to Sydney.

2. In via Toronto, out at any point, but going through NZ, back to Sydney.
