when a good plan comes together

I love it when you have an idea for something, and upon researching the background canon, you discover your idea fits perfectly into the extended canon.

On the other hand, I'm so glad I stopped reading Marvel comics circa 2001. Because it looks like things got weird after that. (Although, on reflection, probably no weirder than they already were.)

Oh, and I dug out my Age Of Apocalypse trade paperbacks - specifically the ones dealing with the Fantastic Four and the Avengers: Stark, Gwen Stacy, Clint Barton, Donald Blake (not Thor in this universe), Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, and Bruce Banner.

I'd forgotten how OUCHY the AoA was.

Avengers vs. Dark Knight Rises

Just saw DKR. Very good. Not as much fun as Avengers, but deeper, more complicated, very based in human nature and human fallibility. A lot more grey areas, a lot more questions.

( I shouldn't have to bother with spoilers since probably everyone else has already seen it )

In short, I'd watch Nolan's Batman trilogy for the deep shivers, but I'd watch the Avengers (and related movies) for the silly happy. And the Lines Of Joss.
