I don't know that I really need an introduction - most people have already encountered me through fandom and female-centric fics, so it's not as though they don't know what they're getting into, right?
Eh.
Female characters, usually also women who take action, women of colour, and droll stoics. I write mostly het and gen with a squidge of slash here and there where I see it. I just prefer writing (and reading) about women, and I have ever since I was 10 and tried to plot a Star Wars AU where Luke turned to the Dark Side and Leia had to save him and the galaxy instead.
Current fandoms are Pacific Rim (Mako Mori!) and MCU (Maria Hill!), but previous ones have been Stargate SG1 (Sam Carter!) and Stargate Atlantis (Teyla Emmagan!), Sanctuary (Kate Freelander!), Merlin (Guinevere!), and Justice League (Diana!). And then there are female characters that I love but didn't write a whole heap about in their various fandoms: Ziva David from NCIS, Faith Lehane from Buffy/Angel, Uhura from Star Trek Reboot...
I'd like to get into watching Agents of SHIELD (if only for MCU background), Veronica Mars (a RL friend tells me I'll love VM), and Sleepy Hollow (I want to, but it's sooooo haaaaard to make myself sit down and watch) at least. If you happen to have a plan for watching these (ie. episodes on a Saturday/Sunday with chatting) let me know!
I rant every now and then; if I hit a button of yours while ranting, please know that it's not personal. I see a lot of things that frustrate and infuriate me on Tumblr and in life and in fic (Mako Mori: Bridezilla? Yeah, NOPE.) and sometimes I just need to type out my thoughts in some semblance of order and get it out so there's room for me to concentrate on other things.
I haven't been using my journals very much lately, but I'm finding that I'm missing the conversations that I had with people. I got halfway through the January Blogmeme earlier this year, but stalled midway due to...stuff happening.
My fics will all be posted up at AO3 as I write them, and ff.net when I have the time to put them there - and, according to what ff.net permits (which basically means no smut).
Finally, I'll actually be cutting the ficcing short in the next couple of months - I've decided to write original fiction from at least Easter to Pentecost. Exactly how this is going to stand up in the wake of Captain America 2, I don't know. If there's a Sudden Steve/Maria Romance in contravention of comics and the Inevitable Destiny Of A Tough Woman Who Isn't A Romantic Interest (ie. she's destined to become the Heinous Bitch Of Evil in a future movie) then ALL BETS ARE OFF.
Tumblr | AO3 | tielan_f @ AOLAnd, uh, hi! Nice to meet you!
Any questions?
