NaNoWriMo: the thing about forums

I guess the thing about the forums is that I don't really connect with people on there. It may be an age thing, or the fact that all the fanficcers tend to be anime, or if they're in my fandoms, they're all hardcore slashfen.

I've posted my intro on the Marvel forum, and in the regional forum, but I think that apart from the meetups, I'm not really going to bother. My people are here, on LJ and DW and Tumblr and in YT chat, and in RL, so I don't really need or want to expand right now.

Current wordcount: 326 words.

Steve is dealing with the realisation of what and who he wants and the 'obstacle' that's in his way (which actually presents an alternative route to what he wants, just with a different who; the question is whether he wants the who and the what, or if he'll settle for the what with the alternate who).

When I run out of this story, I guess I'll go back to 'To The End Of Love' and try to finish that off. And if I get that done, then I suppose I should probably try to complete the Bucky/Sam fic... I'm at the last chapter of quite a few WIPs right now...

fic recs

So, there aren't so many Steve/Maria fics about (particularly ones that aren't written by me and which are actually focused on the relationship between them) that when I find a good one, I don't rec it.

The fic is "A Thousand Years" by DizzyDrea, and it's her sequel to "I'll Be Seeing You". Both are wonderful stories, a good 15K each, and a solid read - characterisation, drama, relationship, and side characters. It helps to read "I'll Be Seeing You" first, of course.

And the long-awaited (by me) Natasha-centric story "I Came To Thrive" from the "Get Ready For It" MCU Hockeyverse story by Philyra came out last week!

Now I just have to pester her for the post-Olympics story of how Maria and Steve actually hook up and manage their relationship in the course of the competition and the face of the media...
