Crazy heat out here lately - 35-40C in the shade, and once the sun comes out, easily over 40. Everything has been baking like a crazy baking thing, including my garden.
Honestly, I get a couple of hours of work first thing in the morning and then it just gets too hot for bearing. But most things are surviving okay - I had to shade a few things from direct sun, and water some plants from my shower run-off (bucket in the shower, collects water that misses me or drips off me; I use a non-industrial soap - it doesn't suds so nicely, but it does the cleaning job).
Midday to early afternoon has been spent flat on my back in bed, with the cats sprawled around me and the overhead fan moving the air around.
Speaking of which, it's nearly my scheduled 'lie flat and try not to overheat' time, so I'd better finish some writing and get a move on!
