I opened by garden for the Sydney Edible Garden Trail 2021.
After COVID closed the SEGT in 2020, and Sydney experienced torrential rain the weekend it was planned in 2021, requiring a postponement, we FINALLY got to have the open garden trails!
I was only open on the Saturday, due to having hockey and church on Sunday. But I had around 50 people coming through, many of them out on this 'arm' of the trip: there were clusters of gardens in local areas, and mine was in a cluster of about 5 gardens strung out neatly across a line.
Frankly, Saturday was exhausting - I was pretty much managing it by myself from 9am until 2pm since just about everyone was unavailable to help this weekend. *sigh*
However it appears to have been a really good weekend - the people who came were inspired and enthused, delighted and invigorated to think about how they could develop their own gardens and the range of options available to them at various levels.
It's beltane in the northern hemisphere, samhain in the southern. Either way, I'm pretty tired.
And now that the garden is done, I can turn my attention to the quilt show...
