The 'no, we won't enshrine an indigenous advisory to parliament in our constitution' vote won. There are pockets of quiet grief around Australia amidst the smug satisfaction.

Ah well. That avenue failed. There are other avenues that are easier to take down once they're in place, but they're also harder to stop the conservatives from blocking.

Dear "Brother Potato", please be as awfully obnoxious a person going forward. But don't destroy our democracy while you're at it.

Dear Greens, please don't shank the wheel of this car just as we're all limping along.

Dear Albo, you might need a bit more No More Mister Nice Guy going forward. Maybe drop back some thirty years to that young union stirrer who believed? You're not bad, but seriously, we could do with someone who believes again.

Dear Media, STFU for heavens' sake. It's not "both sides" anymore - it's the moderate and the untenable and you're treating the untenable like it's a valid option it's not and it should never be.

Interestingly, my socials are taking different angles. FB is angry grief. Threads is noisy anger. Instagram is quiet grief.

*sigh*
