Tuesday (after the stitches were taken out) was a bit of a rough day. Didn't feel like getting up or moving around much; I think my body went back into recovery shock.
But I had a friend coming around to help me do some gardening! And we were going to dinner afterwards!
She came over, and by that time I felt a lot better, so she did the hard work, and we got the dahlias planted, the Roma tomato seedlings planted, the second half of the Garlic bed planted, the AVO-SHED bed planted out (eggplants and beans), and she dug me some furrows for the corn seedlings, but it was too dark to get them into the ground so we went off to dinner.
I put the corn seedlings in on Wednesday morning (with lots of manure and compost), smoked some pork ribs (really good), and planted a new bunch of seeds, then went to bible study in the evening.
Yes, it was a bigger day than I should perhaps have taken. Yes, I am taking it very easy today.
I've also decided and told work I'm taking another week off. There's an in-person team-wide meeting for the Sydney office on Thursday at an office-which-is-not-the-client-office, and I'll attend that (via public transport), but otherwise I'll take that extra week to let my body settle.
At the end of 3 weeks, I'll try driving a short distance and see how my abdomen feels. I have friends who are willing and able to give me lifts to church and bible study and trivia. And the bus/train system is pretty good, so I shouldn't have to drive too much even once I go back to work.

I did some actual sewing this week! A quilt backing that needed doing (although I have to frankenstein the batting together, but my current machine is a straight-stitch-only machine), some handsewing, and now I have some old quilt blocks out and ready for some assembling.
--
I've also read more books in the last two weeks than I have read in, well, quite a long time before that. Mostly the Eve Dallas "In Death" series because that's both familiar and new and enjoyable. You know how the story is going to go, it's just the details that are in question.
Okay, going to write a bit more novel. And then go lie down for an afternoon nap.
