Introduction to the Realms
Jewel Ranks and Blood Castes

Chapter One
He didn't need to look at her to know she was a Queen. Her psychic scent coiled around him like a perfume - fresh and light; taming and yet tender; and something stirred within him that he hadn't felt in years.

Chapter Two
So this Queen might treat these males with tenderness, but a slave was just a slave.

Chapter Three
She could do what she liked with him, but she couldn't make him change his nature.

Chapter Four
She had known her decision to be right from the moment he cast back at her that she could purchase his body, but his soul remained his own.

Chapter Five
They were Warlord Princes, dangerous, aggressive, and uncompromising. They would break bone if given the chance.

Chapter Six
She was the Queen, but the people who served her belonged to themselves. It was all a balance of trust.

Chapter Seven
If he looked down at the empty courtyard, he could almost see her standing down there, dark-haired, fair-skinned, proud and graceful, and with the vital, vibrant aura of a Queen.

Chapter Eight
His choice. Her loss.

Chapter Nine
Arrogant, overprotective, endearing - the males of her court caused her no end of frustration - but no end of joy. Which was, after all, the way it was supposed to be.

Chapter Ten
He allowed himself a moment's regret that he wouldn't be staying in the court. He would have enjoyed the give-and-take among the Blood of this court, familiar with each other, and yet inclusive of the stranger their Queen had brought home.

Chapter Eleven
Elizabeth was not willing to risk good relations with the Gennii on John. And she wasn't all that willing to risk John either.

Chapter Twelve
It was almost service. Not quite, but almost. It would have to be enough.

Chapter Thirteen
Warlord Prince to Warlord Prince, their natures were too brutal for them to stand each other like this. Not when the protective instincts rose too fast in their veins, ignited by spilled blood. And a lot of blood had been spilled.

Chapter Fourteen
Elizabeth wished she could have accepted him, too. She wished a lot of things.

Chapter Fifteen
There was a Queen in Gennii Territory again.

Chapter Sixteen
Elizabeth grieved.

Chapter Seventeen
He was Ronan Dex, Red-Jewelled Warlord Prince of the Blood. And he would serve with honour.

Give me a day or two and I'll have all the chapters linked to each other. I'm just a squidge tired right now!

On the one hand yay! I'm so glad it's finished and I will now rush to go read chap 17. On the other hand, *sob* it's finished. What will I do after chapter 17?

Thank you for such a fun, compelling, enjoyable read! Any inkling of following this up? I have so many questions left - What is Chyanne like? Whose virgin night was Rodney involved in? What happens to John and Teyla?

Loved it, thanks again. BTW, you've inspired me to read the Black Jewels Trillogy. I'm about half way through and it's so interesting.

Wonderful! Will (im)patiently wait for the sequel/prequel :)

I've finished the trilogy now and that would be interesting in that I don't have the same warmth for any of the Black Jewels characters that I feel for pretty much all of Atlantis and I'm not pulled into the magic premise on the same level as the alien city premise, but the characters are so complexly drawn and counter to stereotype that I was fascinated by watching them interact. I was pulled through the books because I wanted to see this or that character meet and hear what they would say to each other. I'm on the library waiting list for the sequels now. So, thank you for introducing me to these! Until this week, Harry Potter was the only professional fiction I'd read in about five years. I do have to say that after fan fic and the tremendous build up of the first book I was a bit let down that the last book didn't contain mad, wild, gratuitous sexing, but I can also recognize that the awkward, tentative scene between Janelle and Daemon was perfect for the characters.

I was waiting for it to be finished before I started to read it, so now I'll be off...reading. :)

It was a delight to read. :)

I really like the pairing of Ronon/Elizabeth, and I haven't even seen Season 2 yet! All I know about Ronon is what I've read on him, but the characters, especially Elizabeth & Teyla seemed very spot on.

I suck at feedback! Sorry.

This is not a pairing I'm into, and probably never will be, but you made me believe it for the duration of the story and I mean that as a high compliment. :-)

And here's another one...I started to read the Black Jewels trilogy and couldn't get past the third or fourth chapter, but this had me engrossed all the way through. Good work!

very engrossing. I'll echo a lot of the other commentators in that I don't read Liz/Ronon (or much other het in SGA) nor have I ever heard of Black Jewels (although I'm planning to check it out now). Regardless of all this I enjoyed this fic thoroughly, you managed to make all the characters recognisable and believeable in their strange setting, the plot was interesting and I couldn't stop reading. And if you ever write that spin-off about SG-1 in the same world I will be first in line to read it. Excellent job!

I was so happy when I found this fanfiction. I love the Blood Jewels Trilogy and I got hooked on Ronon/Liz from the first time I saw them react to each other. You did a masterful job of combining both of these 'verses. I have to ask though, will there be a sequel? Not that the ending for this fic wasn't perfect, I'm just wondering because mentioned the Wraith once and I was wondering if that would lead to another fic from this combined 'verse (and I really hope it does!). Anyway, I wanted to let you know that this is without a doubt one of my new favorite fanfictions from any fandom.

Courtney

P.S. Anne Bishop has a new novel out set in the Blood Jewels verse. It's called 'Dreams Made Flesh' and it is really good. Wasn't sure if you knew or not but I figured it couldn't hurt to let you know.

This was awesome. It makes me want to read the series that this is based on!

Gorgeous story. I was linked to the version on your webpage and I was completely entranced. Only after I read it did I google and find the trilogy you used for your world rules. It is a true feat that you drew me in and explained the world without resorting to giant overexpository dumps of information, and without confusing the hell out of someone who knew less than nothing about the canon on the non-sga side. Beautiful balance and tremendous skill.

The story itself was also wonderfully crafted and drew me in toward characters that were different as au characters are wont to be, and yet remained quintessentially the characters I know and love.

I couldn't stop reading. Thank you so much for writing this.
