This is fandom...there's always something/someone unpleasant happening. *wry smile*

It's just a bunch of 'meh' factors right now, all converging in on me like Rodney with a ZPM.

I think you need to try and focus on the squee! of fandom. Don't wander into anything other than *flailbouncesquee* kind of discussions. Granted, my main ship is currently blooming, with some three thousand members churning out fic, discussion and love. I'm guessing it's Atlantis that's got you down, Teyla/John, which isn't quite as prolific.

Maybe it's not serious or deep, but it's good for the soul. It's supposed to be fun. Forget the fandom and where you are on its tree in comparison to others - just watch the show, read the fic you like and let that be the end of it!
