It's hard to know how to take what JM says, sometimes, because he's an asshat *g* but if he says they weren't thinking of her eventual baby-daddy when they had her say that, then I'll believe him. I think he'd remember if it were intended. It's the sort of deliberate, intentional foreshadowing that would have been discussed if it were done, and he'd have remembered that, so, no. Did he say if there were anyone intended, at all? Or was it an open-ended thing (that they could retcon later, if they chose?) I'm still leaning toward an Athosian and not John, whether it was Kanaan or not. The thing she has (or not-has) with John is vague and fraught enough that I don't see her discussing it with what's-her-name.
