More Than She Wants

Sandra Morgan. Seventh grade school dance. She turned him down.

Jessica Parsons. Homecoming in their sophomore year. She laughed in his face, then went with the star QB.

Diane Candido. Fourth-year cadet at the Academy. She winced, saying she liked him, but not that way.

Teyla Emmagen. Friend and team-mate in Atlantis. She never mentions what Thalen said to her, wearing John's body, speaking in his voice, telling her John's mind.

That - and her dismissal of his unrestrained kiss - says all he needs to know about Teyla's feelings for him.

John cares about her more than she wants to know.

NOTES: I like Shep/Teyla, but after TLG, I'm just not sure she's that interested in him right now.

Love this so much, cause yeah I'm not sure that Teyla likes him that way anymore either. Which I'm okay with, if only 'cause it's so refreshing that the female in the pair isn't the one pursuing a relationship, making a fool of herself and getting shot down. I feel really bad for John though, in the fic. I hope he and Teyla do get together.

This was beautifuly written.

Thank you! I guess I see them as friends right now, with John looking at potentially more (although not necessarily going to pursue it), and Teyla content with the status quo.

I don't have a problem with that. (Hell, in the show, I'm all for the status quo, plus occasional interest.)

Having finally gotten to see TLG, this packs quite the punch. And you're right. Teyla looked slightly exasperated with Shep by the end of the ep. All that drama would cool anyone's interest.

I felt that she's inclined to discount what Thalen said because Thalen said it. It's under duress, from a source she can't confirm. I guess that doesn't mean she has to be totally uninterested in him - just not "ZOMG! Let's rush into a relationship right now!"

Great little drabble! Still a wishing, hoping, and praying S/T fan, though! :) You're right though -- I definitely wouldn't want them to rush anything, especially this early on.

Hey, I love S/T, too. I'm just not convinced that Teyla's all that into John right now. It doesn't mean there can't be moment between them, or that they don't care - it just means they're not going to act on it.

Very nice drabble. I'm not that into the pairing, but you write Sheppard quite well, so I might have to rething my opinion in the future :)

Anyway, that's the way I read TLG, too. He has feelings (maybe for both Teyla and Elizabeth), but at the moment none of them really 'gives them back' (my English vocabularly just went MIA, sorry, I know there is an appropiate verb for that).

Thank you. I really hope that my Shep/Teyla stories might make people think a little more positively about the pairing - if only in fanon.

I disagree that Shep likes Elizabeth that way, but that's my take from watching the show.

Here's my take on John/Teyla/Weir.

John is in love with Teyla
Teyla is in love with freeing her people and the Galaxy and likes John
Weir is in love John and he knows it and that's why he as not made a move on Teyla. I think some time Weir dislike Teyla when all three are togother I Weir seems very angry or emberrased to be in the same room.
