alpha needed!

As someone explained to me, an 'alpha' is someone who helps you along with the story as it's happening. A 'beta' is someone who helps you with the story after it's written.

I need an alpha - someone to help me with my extremely stuck sgabigbang story! I'm 1000 words in...and that's all I can manage. I've written and discarded about 8,000 others and this is becoming extremely frustrating.

Although the story is John/Teyla, you need to be open to John/other at this point.

AIM, YIM, MSN, or email - but it would be appreciated if you have the time to help now, because I need to get this party moving or else it'll never happen.

Is that where Beta comes from? I always wondered! But my alpha and my beta are typically the same person. Wacky.
