As someone explained to me, an 'alpha' is someone who helps you along with the story as it's happening. A 'beta' is someone who helps you with the story after it's written.

sgabigbang story! I'm 1000 words in...and that's all I can manage. I've written and discarded about 8,000 others and this is becoming extremely frustrating.
Although the story is John/Teyla, you need to be open to John/other at this point.
