Okay, so, I'm not Irish. And I don't know too many Irish. But...those accents are bugging me. Then again, this is not a show that's particularly strong on the accent-front. Doesn't Mohinder's accent come and go at whim?

...is that Veronica Mars? Playing...Veronica Mars? In Heroes? Yes. Yes, it is.

Not much to say about this episode, really.

Was this how it was for everyone watching? Kinda "eh, meh, whatever?"

The Line

Caitlin could be a lot more angry about her brother. I don't know, a lot of the links feel very weak. For all that she loved her brother, I'm not getting that feeling post-mortem.

I think one of the strenghts of the series in the first season was the feeling that it was all building to something - that everything and everyone had a part to play. The feeling isn't so strong in this season, although it's certainly growing.

So, the links to the pictures, to the parents, the links between them, their attempt to 'save the world' and this generation's attempt to 'save the world'...it's got the feeling of a bigger picture but it lacks the excitement we felt in the first season: the impossible become possible - all the little details.

thoughts

Alejandro has faith in God; but he rightly has no faith in man. I feel kinda sorry for Maya, knowing what happens to Alejandro, knowing how she's used by Sylar.

I LOL'd at Kolya. So very not Kolya-ish. Although the use of a Eastern-European name for a bad-guy is questionable. Sergei and Ivan and Kolya.

The Claire and West storyline isn't interesting me half as much. I'm kinda disappointed that...oh, man, what was his name? For some reason, I keep thinking Zach, but surely that can't be right - the geek from S1 whose actor got the gig as John Connor in the SCC. He was cute and individual without being cut-out. I liked that. West just doesn't quite match up for me.

HRG going fully against the Company is an interesting angle - I wonder if he's really going to end up dead after all. I kinda hope not, because the character has some wonderful complexities to him. But maybe I'm still hearkening back to 1.17 - Company Man which was magnificent and heartbreaking. Nothing this season that's quite as good.

Then again, I felt the show lost it in the 2nd half of S1 a bit. I've noticed a lot of shows do: they have strong moments up to the mid-season, then waffle a bit for a couple of eps before finding their stride again.
