Something to do if you're not in the mood for my rantage.
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
mahoni picked out these icons:

I made this one myself. The cropping was a change for me - I usually crop my icons with the subject in the centre. This time, I decided I'd go with Teyla on the side, and the heavy computer banks and the light drawing a diagonal line across the icon, with the dark corner at the top. And I liked the juxtaposition of Teyla in the lab; somewhere that isn't considered her 'domain' and yet where she's perfectly comfortable, even in the midst of her pregnancy.

Ahh, Moonlight. So short, so doomed, so sugary-fluffy-sweet with a dash of spice! I picked this icon from a bunch made by
lupinskitty because of Beth's pose - the casual angle of her body, compared with Mick's careful poise. In a way, it epitomises their relationship: Mick's the one who's wary and careful because of what he is, Beth doesn't seem to realise the danger or else she trusts him to keep things under control.

Another home-made icon from Quarantine. In some ways, John and Lorne both mirror and contrast each other. Lorne's probably the better military officer in real life - constant, steady, reliable, straightforward. On the other hand, 'constant, steady, reliable, and straightforward' don't tend to get written about. And I don't think there are too many scenes where both John and Lorne are in the shot and it's as clear as this.

This is pretty much me being naughty last year after the announcement that Sam was coming to Atlantis. IIRC, there was some fretting that her presence would lure Rodney away from his One True Love John. I think it might have been
ladyjax who made the comment about Sam being a cockblocker and getting in the way of Teh Slash. (OHNOES!) Hence, the icon. It came to be more about annoying all the fans who were "I hate Carter because she's coming into our show and I don't want Super Sam here!"

Made for the John/Teyla prequel I planned to the story To Serve A Queen, but which I never ended up writing. Whole plot all laid out, but only a section in the middle actually written. I can't seem to start it, although I've tried several times in the last month. If TSaQ was more about the Queen's Triangle in the Blood society, Widow's Pique is more about the court and the witches and males therein. It has a much broader scope than TSaQ - my John/Teyla stories tend to be that way.
