The only thing that seemed to be hinted at in the future was something for Ronon. With Teyla? Considering that got shot down on the basis of Teyla/Kanaan and there being a prior attraction between John and Teyla, and that Jason Momoa has never seemed particularly into Teyla/Ronon - although he seems to think that Ronon would like an 'active' kind of girl, I don't think so. Keller's out, I still have a soft spot for Ronon/Liz, but they've never played that up and we'd only get RepLizcator anyway, so...Amelia Banks?
Sometimes it's hard to tell in what tense Mallozzi is talking: because the episodes are 'over' for him months before they're 'over' for us. Is it his past tense, or our past tense? The actress for Amelia doesn't appear in any of the cast lists for the last three eps, so...maybe it's him talking about little moments in other episodes?
There was a big long spiel about Sam/Jack, how Rodney/Keller happened, why John/Teyla didn't happen when Rachel got pregnant, and essentially How Things Ended Up The Way They Are Now.
Nothing was said about John/Teyla in the future, although the past angle was talked about. Ultimately, Mallozzi's statement regarding John/Teyla was that Teyla was presently with Kanaan and that would have to change for her and John to get together. The other statement was that if John got together with someone, it'd be someone he's known for a long time, not a one-off. Which, to my mind, rules out Larrin. (Although with these PTB, sometimes what they mean is not how fans interpret it). I can't remember if he said or implied that John would find someone in the last few eps or not. I got the feeling that he was hinting at it and trying not to give anything away.
Randomly interjected query: does anyone know from which ep the scene with the Atlantis regulars standing out on the balcony looking up at the sky is from? Rodney has his arm around Keller, then Teyla, John, and Ronon, a woman who I didn't recognise at the time, but am now wondering (from memory) if that was Sam Carter and I just didn't recognise her, Woolsey, and Chuck. (Chuck?) Is that Enemy At The Gate: The Final Shot Of Our Intrepid Heroes?
Back to the topic: at Burbank!Con, Rachel apparently said that Teyla/Kanaan would be over by the end of the season, and Teyla would end up with Sheppard. I've only heard this from a person with John/Teyla leanings, though, and the quotation wasn't verbatim, so I don't know if other con reports commented on it, too, or if there was leeway in interpretation. Did anyone else report it? Or was it just this one person who had a vested interest? Because Mallozzi tends to be coy as Salome plying her veils, giving him as much wiggle-room as possible, but it sounded like Rachel answered the question directly.
If John/Teyla is how it's going to lean (and it's only ever going to lean that way - after one pairing-off, they're not about to toss another one in the mix) then they've got a lot of ground to cover in three episodes, one of which Teyla apparently isn't even in.
Of course, they did cover a whole relationship break-up in Threads...by extending the episode to 90mins. Yes, it was fast and nasty, and so, too, would any John/Teyla resolution be here.
Actually, at this point, I'm less about who Teyla ends up with and more about the general lack of story focus on her. But I'm so not going there.
To tell you the truth, I'll be glad when this show is over, done, ended, completed, nailed, spaced, put out to pasture, kicked the bucket, bought the farm, finitos. I love the characters, their potential, and the potential of their situation, as well as the people I've met through it (those who are still talking to me, at any rate), but the show itself seems to mangle everything I like. At least once it's done, I can let the bunnies run free and write without thinking they're gonna retcon things at random intervals, and without waiting for the next axe to fall.
Incidentally, if this post screws up, I'm afraid it's going to be a few hours before I manage to repair it, since I'm posting this via email from work. It should work, but...there's no telling...

Every time Mallozzi opens his mouth he manages to alienate me further.
I was also bothered also by his little snark about Teyla settling down with her son's babysitter. Boy, that sums up how much attention they have paid to the relationship and how flat and emotionless it seems.

So I'm not surprised.
I hold a lingering wistfulness for the five years ago when Joe Mallozzi wasn't quite so hyped up on his superstar status, and was actually quite a nice guy to talk to. But I understand. I try to remember the PTB who gave me his card and got me the signatures of the SG1 cast and crew and paid for dinner for my friends and I waaaaay back when, but he makes it rather difficult.

Really, it's all about the potential.

Ronon/Liz would have been fantastic. And the fan reactions would have been crazy. The writers could have just sneaked a little scene in at the beginning or the end of an episode and oh my! Watch the reactions!
Teyla should have had more episodes. She was the best character on the show. ("I will not rant. I will not rant.")
Someone should collect a group of writers and beta readers and rewrite the entire series. It would be amazing, especially if real effort was put into it and issues were explored, situations examined, et cetera. You know, everything that wasn't done on the show.
