The show's been depressing me with the wasted potential for forever, but it's become very clear in the last season that they weren't going to pull themselves out of the mire, whether by their bootstraps or not.

I hold a lingering wistfulness for the five years ago when Joe Mallozzi wasn't quite so hyped up on his superstar status, and was actually quite a nice guy to talk to. But I understand. I try to remember the PTB who gave me his card and got me the signatures of the SG1 cast and crew and paid for dinner for my friends and I waaaaay back when, but he makes it rather difficult.
