Five questions from
wlykyoti:
1. When did you first start writing fic?
The first story I remember writing was for...Year 2. Maybe Year 1. I'd have been 6 or 7. It was called "Princess Sunbeam and Princess Rainbow" and was handed in complete with hand-drawn art.
The first fanfic I remember writing was in Year 4. Complete with self-insert of me and some friends meeting the Transformers and She-Ra. That was after we found ourselves in medieval times telling knights how to joust.
I didn't actually finish anything other than assignment stories until I was about 21-22 - X-Men fanfic. I was really into Generation X and the X-Men: specifically Scott and Jean, but Asian Psylocke was a favourite, too. Jubilee had a little too much 'tude for my enjoyment. But the others in her group were cool. I had a real thing for Jono/Paige for a while there.
2. If you could live anywhere else (besides Australia) where would it be?
Oh, tough question. *thinks* Somewhere in Europe, I think. Southern Europe because I like it warm - Italy or Spain, perhaps. Countryside rather than city-side, although not completely rural.
I'd have said New Zealand, but I don't think I could take the cold.
3. Where haven't you visited in the world that you really want to?
So many places! Off-the-beaten-path Asia - preferably with a group entirely comprised of other Asians; the Middle East - from Egypt to Pakistan. Eastern Europe. Africa. South America... Truthfully, there are a lot of places I haven't been and if you offered me the opportunity to grab someone by the scruff of the neck and just head out there, I would. Unfortunately, my travel is done solo right now, which requires me to find people to stay with.
4. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Published, I hope!
10 years wiser and more mature; with 10 more years of experiences and friendships that I don't regret. Gracefully accepting the weight of years, my sense of humour intact, and still writing!
5. What is your favorite American food?
Hm. How is 'American' defined? I mean,
sjhw_tolerance's fried chicken with potato salad was OMG MORE. And the steak and sides at Seagrass steakhouse in Houston (Galveston?) was divine. I love burgers - albeit, not the ones you buy at McDonalds or Hungry Jacks, but the 'off-the-grill' ones with the lot: cheese, onion, bacon, egg, tomato, lettuce, pineapple... I don't know that having all that on a burger is very 'American', really.
*thinks*
I think the fried chicken with potato salad wins in the end. Home-made is always tastier!
Favourite restaurant in the US, on the other hand? The Melting Pot. Although that steakhouse/restaurant where
andveryginger and her hubs and friends took me to in Atlanta last year was delish, too.
But, yeah. Melting Pot. MMMMM.
So, who's up? :)
