Paris is going fine, but for some sad news from home on Monday; my cat died, and now I have a tendency to leakage at unexpected times.
There'll be a travel update on my personal LJ sometime in the next few days.
Some fannish things in the meantime:
helpthesouth: Bid to appear as a walk-on character in the Stargate Atlantis Legacy series!
Sanctuary fans - go forth to the
sfa_ficawards! Voting is now!
het_bigbang: sign-ups until 1st June.
Merlin folks may be interested in the
summerpornathon! Time for some Arthur/Gwen porn! (Merlin/Gwaine? Merlin/Lancelot? Morgana/Morgause?)

Didn't get my
sga_genficathon entry in on time for art. Will have to either create my own or go without.
Am not sure I'll make the
trekreversebang due date due to the trip and the cat.
Finally, conventional bookstores selling eBooks are not very bright. Because I would buy the eBooks of my favourite authors in order to support them and their writing endeavours. Unfortunately, since I can't find any conventional bookstores in the US that will sell me (an Australian) eBooks written by US authors, my first thought was to get them off people who've bought the eBooks themselves and republished them for free.
I can and will buy them in Australian online bookstores, however that wasn't my first thought when I found that B&N wouldn't sell me the books I want (and they let me go through the whole process of signing up, and then rescinded my order after I went through the entire checkout process and was told that my purchase was successful). And if I were less involved with authors than I am, the truth is that I wouldn't bother trying to find a method of purchase that reimburses the authors.
It just seems like an extremely stupid way of doing business, IMO. You tell someone their money isn't good enough, they'll say 'fuck you' and go and take their money elsewhere.
I already own the books in hardcopy, btw. The thing is that I want to carry them with me when I travel, and so I want the ebooks, too.

I didn't finish my SGA Gen fic in time either. You should totally make your own art. I'd volunteer to make stuff for you, but I think you'd do a MUCH better job yourself. *g*
